Nagabodhi has twice in the past - in 1989 and 2002 - revisited Sangharakshita’s classic series ‘Buddhism for Today and Tomorrow’. Each time he’s explored the ways Triratna might change, and this latest update in his thinking looks forward again as he revisits old issues, discusses new ones, and frames them all in the context of a vision of a new society founded on principles of the Dharma.

Reflective, provocative, always good humoured, this is an engaging and finally optimistic...

Muditasri - Lead-through of the Kalyanamitra Yoga

Sangharakshita has said he would like all Order members to be familiar with the Mula Yogas. As part of the 2016 Combined Convention, Muditasri leads us through the new, simplified version of the practice as recommended by Bhante.

Here’s an update to the collection boxes in the entryway:

Aryaloka is currently collecting for for the Safe Harbor Recovery Center in Portsmouth. Safe Harbor provides support and resources for anyone affected by alcohol and drug addiction. Safe Harbor needs cleaning products, office supplies, and personal care items. We are also collecting non-perishable food for the Newmarket Food Pantry. Please feel free to bring a donation for these charities when you arrive.

Please note: we’re no longer collecting clothing, because they are not needed...

A New Buddhist Centre in Oslo, Norway

We are very excited to let you know about our search for a new buddhist centre in Oslo.

We want it to express all three Cs: Centre, Community and Co-operative, as described in the video.

The order members in Oslo, Muditadevi, Sraddhapa and Gunaketu will all buy parts of the building and offer this as security against the mortgage of the remaining building which is the Oslo Buddhistsenter. Later, the Oslo Buddhistsenter will buy back these parts to make use of the whole building.

The full opening evening, featuring Parami’s introduction to the Convention and the theme of ‘Buddhism for Today and Tomorrow’. And Lokeshvara and Parami leading the Dedication Ceremony, the reading of the names of Order members who have died and resigned since the last Convention, the new versions of the Order Refuges and Precepts in Pali and in English), and the Shakyamuni Mantra (Indian style) with offerings.

Buddhas are appearing all around the grounds… A team of dedicated volunteers has set the place up this week for 475 of us… Parami and Lokeshvara introduced the Convention themes and led the Dedication Ceremony with an extended Shakyamuni Mantra, Indian-style!
