The Organic Core of Sangharakshita's Teaching by Vishvapani

By Centre Team on Mon, 31 Oct, 2022 - 18:28

Vishvapani has been studying, reflecting upon, and living out the Dharma life as presented by Urgyen Sangharakshita, Triratna’s founding teacher, for over 40 years. To mark the fourth anniversary of “Bhante” Sangharakshita’s death in 2018, this new talk delves deep into the heart of what Vishvapani calls a “unique and strange” intuitive approach to Buddhism that, at its best, seems to capture and...

What's your relation to Sangharakshita?

By suryanaga on Sat, 3 Sep, 2022 - 14:51

To help the Urgyen Sangharakshita Trust in its next phase of work, we launched a survey at the recent UK and Ireland Order Convention exploring people’s responses to Sangharakshita. We heard from over 100 order members, who expressed a wide range of views on Sangharakshita and his legacy.

But we want to hear from you too - how do you feel about Sangharakshita? How are we doing at our mission to connect people with his legacy?

Whatever your response to Sangharakshita, we’d really appreciate you taking just...

Bhante’s Birthday Puja

By Khemabandhu on Tue, 25 Aug, 2020 - 15:26

On Wednesday 26th August, Adhisthana will be celebrating the anniversary of Bhante Sangharakshita’s birthday, as will be happening throughout Triratna. I find it hard to believe that only two years ago Bhante was still alive and would have been enjoying the celebrations at Adhisthana – probably with a vegan coffee and walnut cake that he would share with all those around him.

It is also the day when the Triratna centres continue with the 108 Year Puja that happens every year. I...

365 Days of Bhante

By Maitriyogini on Fri, 27 Mar, 2020 - 14:06

A significant aspect of our work here at Adhisthana is to keep alive the spirit of our founder and teacher, Bhante Urgyen Sangharakshita, in the years after his passing on the 20th October 2018. We would like to bring more of the flavour of...

I feel honoured and so very grateful to have been able to serve Bhante as secretary in the last few years of his life. Clear and bright was his mind right up until his death, full of warmth and kindness for those that came into his sphere.

Though we were generations apart he always took interest in what interested me and our work together was so very smooth and straightforward, which is impressive given Bhante’s poor eyesight and my general lack of secretarial...
