The Suffering of the Rohingya People Continues

By Sadayasihi on Mon, 18 Jun, 2018 - 15:15

The Rohingya people need your money, urgently.

A new Buddhist global project has been set up to help the Rohingya people, a million of whom are living in the world’s biggest refugee camp, Bangladesh, as a result of Buddhist-led violence in Myanmar/Burma. After fleeing their burning villages, many of them now find themselves living in very difficult conditions facing monsoon rains.

Late in 2017 a number of senior Order members published strongly-worded statement pointing out...

Beginners Course - Buddhism, Meditation & Peace in our Communities

By shraddhavani on Fri, 4 Nov, 2016 - 14:04

Thursday evenings, 7-9PM, December 1 - 22.

This four-week course, led by Dh. Suddhayu, offers an opportunity for those new - and not so new - to Buddhist meditation to explore how these practices can offer insights into building peaceful relationships.  We teach traditional Buddhist meditations, but you do not need to be a Buddhist to practice and benefit from them.

Croydon's Meditation for Peace

By Munisha on Thu, 27 Oct, 2016 - 13:39

Vijayasri reports from Croydon Buddhist Centre, in south London, UK.

We experience the difference that metta makes in our own community; we have a vision of spiritual community; importantly we have a means to overcome conflict and disharmony.

Sangharakshita asks us to imagine a society where the metta bhavana meditation is regularly practised...

Reflecting On Peace - A Sangha Gathering for Memorial Day

By Candradasa on Thu, 26 May, 2016 - 14:58

To mark Memorial Day this year, we’ll be having s special sangha gathering this Sunday to meditate together, and then reflect on the Buddha’s message of non-violence as the only truly viable way to peace. In the Commentaries of the Anguttara Nikaya and the Samyutta Nikaya we hear tale of the Buddha intervening in a dispute between rival clans and helping prevent a full-scale war. Seeking Triratna sangha in Israel

By Munisha on Sat, 4 Oct, 2014 - 00:10What if there’s no Triratna sangha in your country? Yesterday and today we hear from people seeking Triratna sangha.

He writes: “Here in Israel, the words “peace” and “dialogue” have been so over-used, they have ceased to...
