I am delighted to announce that the former Chris Bicknell was publicly ordained today at the Wellington Buddhist Centre.

He becomes Jnanamudra (the ‘Jn’ may be pronounced -jnya and a long first ‘a’), a Sanskrit name meaning ‘he who has the seal of knowledge‘.

His private preceptor is Purna and his public preceptor is myself

I am very happy to announce the public ordination of ex-Olivia Devoy of the Auckland Buddhist Centre sangha at Sudarshanaloka this afternoon, 29 January 2022.

Olivia becomes Vimoksajyoti (dot under the s), a Sanskrit name meaning she who has the light of liberation.
