Dear Order Members and friends,

Last month Vajrashura’s ‘letter from the College’ grew out of the men’s Private Preceptors’ retreat at Adhisthana and the five talks given by Subhuti during that event based on Bhante Sangharakshita’s paper ‘What is the Western Buddhist Order?’. (Subhuti has been interviewed by Jyotika on the topic of this paper, and the interview is available here.)

Dhammacharini Ordination Retreat begins on 17th and end on 29th March 24. On 25th March 2024 19 new Dhammacharini got ordained. Dhni. Abhaydana first public ordination at Bhaja. 

After long time retreat center had big event. Prepare food for 400 people. It was good program. 

After ordination they had 4 days post ordination retreat. During this period visited near by Bedas caves.

Public Preceptor Purna:

David Raubenheimer becomes Dharmaprakāśa (fourth ’a’ is long, acute accent over the ’s’), a Sanskrit name meaning “He who is bright and shining with and through the Dharma”
Registered spelling: Dharmaprakasha
Private preceptor: Guhyasiddhi

It has been a lovely start to the year already. The European Chairs Assembly came for their winter meeting, and it was a great way to kick off 2024; their clear up left the place spotless and you can usually find Maitridevi and a few others playing Bananagrams after dinner (and learn some new words; atavist and quinquereme anyone?).

In community news, Caroline will be going to Akasavana this year and will be ordained by Aryajaya – we look forward to...
