Public Preceptor Purna:

David Raubenheimer becomes Dharmaprakāśa (fourth ’a’ is long, acute accent over the ’s’), a Sanskrit name meaning “He who is bright and shining with and through the Dharma”

Private preceptor: Guhyasiddhi

Dear friends,

I am delighted to announce that the former Don Lawson was publicly ordained on 10th December at the Wellington Buddhist Centre.

He becomes Surangamamati, ‘He who has a mind of heroic progress’ . There is an accent above the ’s’, long ‘u’ and a dot over the ‘n’.

Registered spelling Shurangamamati.

His private preceptor is Purna and his public preceptor is Ratnavyuha.

He is one of the Deputy Chairs of the College. Ratnavyuha met Triratna at Aryaloka in North America, and a few years later moved to train for ordination in the UK, working at Windhorse Trading, and being ordained at Guhyaloka in 1999.
