Earlier today Saddhanandi talked about creating a bigger container to engage with the suffering in the world. She mentioned the support of spacious, open awareness, connecting with your heart-wish and your relationship with the Buddha. Saddhanandi speaks about how to create a broader perspective, to give us the capacity to turn towards whatever is happening.

Introduction to Tonglen retreat

Yesterday evening Saddhanandi introduced her vision for the retreat that will be held here at Taraloka over the next week. The topic is a meditation practice called tonglen, which is a Tibetan word for receiving and sending. In this practice the breath is used to connect to one’s heart wish for the happiness of all beings.

Meanwhile, the landscape is showing the full signs of spring, with bright yellow daffodils and dark blue hyacinths scattering their colour – fabulous! It’s like a yearly miracle!

Today 24 Dharmacharinis will gather at Taraloka for a retreat on Tonglen.

Led by Saddhanandi, and supported by Ratnavandana, Yashobodhi and Vajramudita.

It will be a week of intensive meditation practice, taking place mainly in silence, and dedicated as an offering to the world and to alleviating suffering.
