By Candradasa on Thu, 24 May, 2018 - 15:00

Karunadevi’s Annals
In 1968 I had recently moved to the San Francisco Bay Area from Iowa with my husband. I was 24 years old, had graduated from Iowa State University in ’66 and was teaching 4th grade. California was a very different culture, especially around San Francisco, and I felt both overwhelmed and enthralled...

50 Years, 50 Voices: Amarapushpa and Chandrasiddhi (Highlights)

By Satyalila on Thu, 10 May, 2018 - 15:00

I had been looking for so long.  And then I saw my first woman Order Member. And that was like the ‘fourth sight’… that inspired me to go for refuge.
Amarapushpa

A Passage to America - a new piece of writing by Sangharakshita

By Sadayasihi on Fri, 30 Mar, 2018 - 14:19

In this piece, written in March 2018, Sangharakshita recalls his first flight to America nearly fifty years ago, on his way to teach a term at Berkeley, with reflections set off by viewing the flight information screen above his window seat.

This piece is open to all and can be read on Sangharakshita’s website: ‘A Passage to America’ along with other articles also written by him.

This is our regular community gathering and all are welcome.  Offered by donation...
