What Is a True Individual (FBA Podcast)

By Centre Team on Sat, 13 Dec, 2025 - 11:00

Mahasraddha speaks about becoming a true individual to the Oslo Sangha. He starts with the importance of being in touch with the bodhisattva ideal and the dangers of losing this connection. He then explores the relationship between the true individual, the positive group and the unhealthy group. This leads to an awareness of values and the importance of forgiving both ourselves and others when we don’t manage to live up to the ideal. He also...

Rebuilding the Cardiff Buddhist Centre

By Vishvapani on Fri, 12 Dec, 2025 - 17:30

The Cardiff Buddhist Centre completed a major refurbishment project this summer. The sangha came together to support the project and reception areas, which had become quite run down, have been rebuilt and refurbished.

Cardiff is a vibrant city filled with students and it had a strong identity as the capital of Wales. The Centre moved to the current site in the late 1990s: a long building on a quiet street, fifteen minutes walk from the city centre. At one end...

Celebration Memorial for Bodhilila

In late October, many friends of Bodhilila gathered – in London and around the world online – to rejoice, remember and appreciate our friend, teacher and former chair of the West London Buddhist Centre, who died on 30th September 2025.

This is a beautiful, moving film of Bodhilila’s memorial service, also featuring a wonderful set of mages from here life which includes her own performance on viola of Kol Nidrei by Max Bruch.

Sangha As Goal

By Free Buddhist Audio on Wed, 10 Dec, 2025 - 00:00
What if the goal of practice is not an individual achievement, but the awakening of the Sangha itself? As our series on the Wheel of Life comes to an end, this week we turn to the Sangha as the goal of the spiritual life. Through the image of Avalokitesvara’s thousand compassionate hands, we’ll explore how our community can become a single Bodhisattva—responsive, open-hearted, and alive to suffering in the world. During this theme we'll be looking at The Wheel of Life, a living symbol that encompasses the entirety of existence. We'll learn how to escape from the prison and sufferings of Samsara, towards ever increasing positive and expansive states of being, towards the ultimate goal of Awakening. We'll be taking a contemporary look at this ancient symbol, visiting its realms and their beings from the depths of the hell realm to the heights of the heavenly abodes, and asking what do these realms look like in our modern society and world? Expect support for home practice, practical ideas of how to bring these traditional teachings into your everyday life, and reflections on how to make your Great Escape!

De Tre Farkosterna - Del 1

By Free Buddhist Audio on Tue, 9 Dec, 2025 - 00:00
