By Zac on Mon, 31 Oct, 2022 - 06:00

The Buddha famously said that fellowship is the whole of the spiritual life. Is that really true?! Abhayanandi has been following this teaching notably by living in a residential Buddhist community and working in a team-based right-livlihood business. Hear her inspirational and hard-won reflections from the talk entitled Living Sangha given at London Buddhist Centre, 2016.

Sangharakshita goes to Buddhafield! A first for him, and a first for the fabulous Buddhafield Festival that takes place each year at the height of the English summer. This talk was given in a tent in Devon - and the sounds of this great Dharma celebration are everywhere around as Sangharakshita marks his entry to the ‘Dharma Parlour’ with a rolling set of thoughts and reminiscences and encouragements to practice.

One World, One Sangha - What’s Triratna done for me?

By Liz_Bassett on Sun, 31 Oct, 2021 - 11:30

I first went to the Glasgow Buddhist Centre in 2008. My life was ok, but I was looking for more meaning - something I could put all my energies into. I was going in circles. Sinhacandra, the Order member teaching meditation, reached out to me with kindness. And that made all the difference.

I still kept changing relationships and homes, struggling to get a foothold. The Buddhists seemed to know how to work with change though. And Mitra study helped me connect...

India in Crisis- How can we help?

By Sanghanath on Wed, 19 May, 2021 - 17:01

I do Karuna appeal not because they are easy, in fact, they are never easy. But in my deepest sense, I know they make difference to myself and my brothers and sisters in India. In my opinion, one of the best practical application is available in our community to help others.

I like what Sangharakshita said, “Karuna appeal is a spiritual practice because you are doing something for others”
