Dear Order members and friends,

June was my last month of solitary lockdown in South Wales. In practice that meant spending even more time than usual on my computer, although I did manage one week offline. I also read Analayo’s Compassion and Emptiness and re-read The Glass Bead Game, and went for long walks along deserted lanes and footpaths in the national park.

I emerged from my week off to the deluge of discussion around the subject...

The annual international meeting of the Preceptors’ College took place from the 4th to the 14th November, 2019. It was Saddhaloka’s final meeting as Chair after almost five years of service, and half-way through the meeting he handed over to Ratnadharini, the incoming Chair, marking the transition with a ritual and rejoicings. The next Swedish Order day is Sunday 3rd September at the Stockholm Buddhist Centre. Ratnadharini, president of Stockholm, will be with us and every Order member in Sweden is very welcome.

It will be a lovely opportunity for us to welcome our new Order-brother, Śraddhamanas. Here is the programme:

9.30-11.30 Meditation (normal Sunday meditation open to Friends and mitras) If you don’t want to come at 9.30, we can open the door at 10.30 too. Please don’t ring the doorbell

Introducing the March 2016 Preceptors' College meeting

Saddhaloka, Paramabandhu and Ratnadharini introduce the meeting, talking about ordinations and ordination courses, sadhana, and new members of the Preceptors’ College.

Two days of the meeting are devoted to meetings of the various kulas of the College. Currently there are the following kulas -

Indian Kula (not present at this meeting but all 8 of them were here for the November 2015 meeting) - Subhuti Yashosagar, Amrutdeep, Jnanasuri, Karunamaya, Chandrashil, Amoghasiddhi and Adityabodhi.

Men’s ‘Padmaloka’ Kula - Padmavajra, Satyaraja, Surata, Arthapriya, Paramabandhu, Moksananda and Maitreyabandhu.
