Midwinter music: The Starriness of Things

By Munisha on Thu, 25 Dec, 2014 - 00:24In this festive season, whatever you are celebrating (or not), let’s hear from Triratna musicians in the northern hemisphere making “a joyful noise unto the Lord”. (Not that Lord.)
Listen to all the music mentioned below.

Joe Richardson is a mitra living in the Scottish Borders. His resonant voice is already known to some of us in his version of the Karaniya Metta Sutta; now he’s set 10 of Sangharakshita’s poems to music and he’d love to...

Music from the clear-up team's campfire

Music from the clear-up team's campfire

By Munisha on Sat, 31 May, 2014 - 13:13For most of us the International Retreat is long over, but the doughty clear-up team have only just left, after a further week’s work dismantling the marquees, showers, toilets and kitchen.

Happily we can know something of their playtime too, with this great little recording from Suvajra. It’s Sumana’s folk setting of Sangharakshita’s poem, “Secret Wings” about our resistance to acknowleding our own spiritual potential.

Sumana main voice and banjo; guitar Joe Richardson: backing vocals Joe Hill and Shantikara.

End of the 2014 Triratna International Retreat - Some Highlights

By Candradasa on Tue, 27 May, 2014 - 20:13Well, that was a full old 5 days! The International Retreat is now at an end - and we were there in spirit through the rain, mud and eventual glorious sunshine, sampling the evident joy of the event and the delighful experience of sangha that is apparent in all the (many!) photographs we were able to feature.

Our great thanks to Dassini, Ivan, Munisha, Singhamanas, Suvajra, Suvannamani, Vajrashura, Vidyatara, and to anyone else who contributed...
