Triratna Thrive: How FutureDharma is responding to the Coronavirus

FutureDharma exists to enable an abundantly funded, effective and well-resourced Triratna community that can respond to a suffering world and provide a progressive pathway to liberation.

The established purpose of FutureDharma is to seed and support Triratna Sanghas around the world, funding Dharma projects which promote unity, depth and breadth internationally, especially new projects which are bold and innovative. However a new approach is needed for this unprecedented time of rapid change, uncertainty and challenge.

Working Together - FutureDharma and India Dhamma Trust

By Liz_Bassett on Thu, 16 Apr, 2020 - 12:06

We’ve got some exciting news to share. We’re going to be working a lot more closely with India Dhamma Trust.

With the world in lockdown, no-one is unaffected. In India conditions are hard. Food is difficult to come by and expensive. Many people don’t have homes or sanitation. People that do have homes often live with many family members sharing a small space. There is mass migration with migrant workers returning to their home villages. The sangha in India are responding to the needs...

“More of the same, reaching more and more people.” Urgyen Sangharakshita

Speaking just a few months before he died, this was Sangharakshita’s ongoing vision for Triratna. FutureDharma exists to help make this beautifully simple vision a vibrant reality.

We set out in 2016 with nine Dharma Priorities, the blessing and support of the College of Public Preceptors, and the fervent belief that members of Triratna love our sangha and want to give other people the opportunity to benefit from it. From the get go we have supported...

With the help of Future Dharma Fund, three Order Members from the UK and Spain visited Merida in Venezuela to help the Sangha there, who are growing despite being in challenging conditions. Aryavachin (living in Nottingham but from Venezuela), Manjusiha (from Padmaloka, UK) and Padmashalin (from Valencia, Spain) have been kept busy in Venezuala!

Aryavachin has been keeping a record of the visit, which started with an afternoon on William Blake and the integration of...

The mystery of the red T shirts

By Munisha on Sun, 27 Aug, 2017 - 15:46

Taking and editing pictures throughout the International Gathering, I’ve gradually become aware of a certain redness growing all around me.

More and more people are wearing red T shirts.

More and more people are taking out monthly standing orders to the FutureDharma Fund.

And people who commit themselves to monthly giving to Triratna projects around the world in this way get a free red “Pass it on” T shirt! (See the pictures.)

In celebration of generosity (and in...

Money often substitutes for other things we want. But how to tell the difference? Amalavajra, a banker-turned-Buddhist fundraiser, explores how his relationship with money has changed.

Listen to an interview with Amalavajra on his life as banker and Buddhist

In May 1999, at the age of twenty-five, I was a bond dealer at JP Morgan, a major US investment bank just off Fleet Street. I had always wanted to be, yes, a ‘millionaire’, and was now well...

FutureDharma Fund supports ongoing appeal for Venezeula crisis

By Aryanisha on Mon, 7 Aug, 2017 - 17:23

Thanks to the generosity of the European Chairs Assembly, in just a few minutes FutureDharma Fund raised £5000 in pledges to help sangha members in Venezuela, whose country is in crisis.

Chairs from Triratna Buddhist Centres across Europe and representatives from major Triratna projects had gathered together at Vajrasana for a 10-day meeting. They were joined by several other Chairs from around the world, including Vajranatha.
