Happy New Year! I’m busy getting back into work and writing thank you notes for pressies received over the festive period. The best presents you can get I reckon, are books. And they’re also the best to give because they can change lives. That’s why FutureDharma Fund supports the Translation Project, which is producing high quality translations of Sangharakshita’s presentation of the Dharma.

They are all giving to FutureDharma Fund. Some of them give a monthly donation, some have given a larger one-off gift, made us a loan or put FutureDharma Fund in their Will. At FutureDharma Fund we love getting post! So when we were thinking of the best way of getting in touch with the lovely Triratna community the answer seemed obvious – a postcard. Throughout the summer we’ve been sending out bundles of FutureDharma Fund postcards to Triratna centres and retreat centres across the world. They carry a very simple message:

In May Amalavajra ran a Money Awakening Retreat at Adhisthana. Participants from the UK, Europe and Mexico spent a weekend together reflecting on their relationship with money. Through meditation, puja and workshops they explored how we earn, spend, save and donate our money, and learnt how our relationship with money is part of our spiritual life. Meditating on the Buddha Ratnasambhava, retreat participants were encouraged to focus on the 3rd and 2nd precepts: Live Simpler, Give More.

Liz Bassett joined FutureDharma Team in April. Working alongside our Lead Fundraiser, Amalavajra, Liz is our new Communications & Donor Care Manager.

A GFR Mitra, Liz has moved down from Glasgow, her sangha of 8 years, to live and work at Adhisthana. She has previously worked in the NHS as well as the charity and education sectors, and is very happy to be working for Triratna. Her first task is producing the new FutureDharma website that will go live...

The FutureDharma Fund is coming!

FutureDharma is a significant new international Triratna fund, intended to provide greatly improved financial support for Triratna worldwide as we move into our second 50 years, at a time of real challenge for humanity and the planet.

Amalavajra is the ECA’s fundraiser. He writes: “Grounded in Bhante’s vision, FutureDharma is a collaboration between Triratna’s International Order Office, College of Public Preceptors and European Chairs’ Assembly (ECA), as well as its International Council.
