John’s Tips for Greenspace Climate Action

John Marder, One of the committee members of the Network of Buddhist Organisations UK produced a document on Greenspace Climate Action for Buddhist Action Month 2019. The introduction reads:

The BAM Handbook 2019 is now available.

Kaspalita Thompson from the NBO (Network of Buddhist Organisations) writes:

The handbook explains the theme: Climate Action - Personal Action. It suggests Buddhist ways of engaging with the theme and thinking about climate change, including avoiding polarisation. There are suggestions of personal and group actions, and other groups that you can join with.

Buddhist Action Month: (BAM!) is an annual festival of Buddhist social action. It started in Britain in 2012 and has since spread out across Europe and beyond. Social action is one of the manifestations of METTA, the strong intention to create Loving Kindness for all, which is embodied in the desire to act for the benefit of the world. Continuing our Triratna News mini-series marking the COP21 climate change talks in Paris, more news of climate change actions from around the Triratna world.

Dublin Buddhist Centre, in Ireland, released their Statement on Human-Caused Global Warming today. Last week, we hear, Triratna individuals were among those staging a ritual inside the British Museum, as part of the Art, not Oil coalition’s opposition to BP’s (British Petroleum) sponsorship of several British arts institutions.
