I am delighted to announce that the former Brian Moreton was publicly ordained today at the Thames Buddhist Centre.

He becomes Karunalata (the second and third ’a’ are long as in “father”), a Sanskrit name meaning ‘he who is a firebrand of compassion‘.

His private preceptor is Guhyasiddhi and his public preceptor is myself

By next year we could have 45 active members, and it will inevitably continue to grow as the movement expands and more public preceptors are needed. I recently interviewed Dhammarati about an emerging project about the system of training in Triratna. It goes by the name of Sikkha (with a long a), which is a Pali word meaning ‘spiritual training’.
