Aryaloka Celebrates Buddha Day

Amala led the night with a fantastic slideshow of images depicting the Buddha’s life, which were accompanied by storytelling and narration by several sangha members who each picked a unique episode to imaginatively bring to life. At our Buddha Day celebrations Dayalocana, Amala and Vidhuma gave great short talks (and answered questions!) on their relationship to the Buddha’s teaching and the ideal of Enlightenment.

Normally we’d upload these to Free Buddhist Audio but there were some recording glitches during Dayalocana’s and Amala’s talks, so we thought we’d post them all together here as part of the celebrations of Buddha Day around Triratna. They’re definitely listenable, just a bit grungy in parts!

Aryaloka Buddhist Center joined our Triratna brothers and sisters all over the world for a celebration of Buddha Day on May 28th, 2013. The center was packed to the brim with sangha and good cheer!

The theme for the evening was “Making Friends with Enlightenment,” and we were fortunate to hear short talks from Order members Dayalocana, Amala, and Vidhuma, who spoke about what Liberation means to them....
