On 10th Sept 2015 we celebrated community member Raj Mohan birthday along with guest in community. Dhammamitra Mrs. Sumitra Sable sang  Marathi Song. Raj Mohan is just 26 years old. From last one year staying in community and contributing to retreat center in various way. He is inspring person of community came from Uttrakhand near Himalya region to plain to get understanding about Buddhism.

We are happy to announce the ordination of Gurbej Cchahal Singh on 9th August at Bor Dharan retreat centre near Nagpur, India.

Public preceptor: Chandrasil 
Private preceptor: Subhuti

He was given the name Kushalveer (Indian spelling) - Kusalavira (western spelling) - ‘ethical or skilful hero’.

Kushalveer is the first Indian Order member from a Sikh background.

Suzie Tisch becomes Maitrihrdaya, a Sanskrit name meaning ‘She who has a Heart of Loving Kindness’. (long second ‘i’, dot under the second ‘r’ and long final ‘a’).
Westernised spelling - Maitrihridaya
Private Preceptor - Satyapada

Claudia Bock becomes Karunaseva, a Sanskrit name meaning ‘In the Service of Compassion’. (dot under ‘n’ long final ‘a’).

This morning Steve Hornby, a mitra at Manchester Buddhist Centre, UK, started his ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. 

He’s raising money for Dhanakosa Retreat Centre’s Development Fund. The money will enable the redecoration of the retreat centre this winter, a new office and meeting space and a new (second hand) Land Rover. It will also help them continue to provide retreats by donation rather than charging....

Great to see those of you who came to the young women’s retreat at Tiratanaloka.  I was left feeling that the future of the Order is in good hands.  Here is the talk I gave about the state of the world: refugees, Jeremy Corbyn, money, power, the environment, and what the Buddhist response is.  I think we are on the brink of something quite new, and Buddhism has an important role to play…
