Pundarikini, who is 76 years of age and lives in Auckland, New Zealand, was ordained in November 1993 at Dhanakosa Retreat Centre in Scotland by Ratnasuri and myself. Sadly due to a serious breach of the second precept we found it necessary to suspend her from the Order at the end of 2016. Several Dharmacharinis in New Zealand who knew her formed a kula to support her through the period of suspension, meeting with...
In November 2017 Clear Vision went to visit the new Colchester Buddhist Centre to hear from the Chair, Amalaketu, about the acquiring of the building, the renovation, and how Triratna is flourishing there.
Bhante has asked me to inform you that he has received and accepted the resignation of Dharmacharini Punyasri from Auckland, New Zealand. Punyasri was ordained by Bhante in 1987. She sent a very full letter to Bhante which was just for him but has asked that the following letter be made available to the Order more generally. We wish her well.

The first in an occasional series this year of unreleased archive episodes from Buddhist Voices. Here’s Lokeshvara, one of our two International Order Conveners in Triratna, talking in 2015 at the end of his voyage around the world achieved in exactly 80 days. Sudarshana, his Public Preceptor, is no longer with us, so this decision was made after careful deliberation by the Indian Public Preceptors kula. The final decision was communicated to Ratnavajra on the 8th of March 2018 in presence of Jutindhar, who was his Private Preceptor.
A few years ago the Indian Public Preceptors Kula received a complaint...
I think that what can so often happen in Internet communication is that Party A, will declare to Party B, that Party C has spoken unskilfully on one Forum or another. Before going any further I think it would be fair to accept that Party A believes themselves to be genuinely stating the truth about Party C.
However, given how rare it is for everyone to catch every posting on the Internet, Party B thus stands very...
This article follows on from Satyadhana’s ‘Understanding paṭicca-samuppāda’ and Sagaramati’s & Kamalashila’s ‘Actually understanding paṭicca-samuppāda’
“黑 猫 白 猫,能 捉 到 老 鼠 就 是 好 猫”
Satyadhana (SD) and Sagaramati & Kamalshila (S&K) seem to agree (with probably most of us) ‘that the Buddha’s motive in going forth was to end dukkha, which he is said to have achieved under the Bodhi tree’ (S&K: 8). As the Buddha often said, his teachings were about dukkha and the way to...
