In mid-August, we had the first GFR retreat for Polish women held in the Bodhidharma Zen Retreat Centre in Falenica near Warsaw. Eight women training for ordination attended together with Saddhajala and Kulanandi.

I am writing to let you know that, as her Public Preceptor, I have accepted the resignation of Maitrivirya formerly from Ghent in Belgium, but now living in Bohan in the east of Belgium.

Maitrivirya was ordained at Metta Vihara in Holland in November 2020. Her Private Preceptor is Tarini.

Viryabodhi beskriver att det finns två slags människor som praktiserar eller söker; de som är pådrivna av lidande, smärta, och de som lockas av och vet det finns mer, eller en kombination av dessa två. Hur uppstår eller vaknar medvetenhet i våra liv? Buddha använde tre olika ord eller begrepp när han talade och undervisade i medvetenhet: 1. sati, ren medvetenhet, eller uppmärksamhet; 2. sampajañña, medvetenhet om syfte eller klar förståelse; och 3. appamāda, vaksamhet eller varsamhet, eller samvete. Sangharakshita beskriver medvetenhetens fyra nivåer, som inbegriper de 4 grunderna till medvetenhet: a. medvetenhet om saker och ting, naturen, världen; b. medvetenhet om oss själva, som har tre aspekter, kroppen, känslor och tankar; 3. medvetenhet om andra; och slutligen 4. medvetenhet om verkligheten. Föredraget gavs på Stockholms Buddhistcenter, 1 september 2025.
