Its sangha is now large enough to buy a building, having started over a decade ago with classes run by Order members visiting from Birmingham Buddhist Centre and from Taraloka.

Watch a 3-minute video about this great little building and its potential.

Akasaraja writes: “Efforts to find a building in Shrewsbury to use as a Buddhist...

Mindfulness All Flavours! Week 4: Breadth And Focus

From Online Meditators on Mon, 15 Dec, 2014 - 21:08Here we are in our final week of the current session of online meditation! Over the past month of the Tuesday course we’ve explored sati, sampajanna, and appamada as different flavours of mindfulness - or as complementary camera angles of reflection on the practice, if you like. This time we’re going to look at how to hold all three aspects using an awareness of breadth and focus in our meditation. And as usual we’ll be doing this in the context...

#EthicalChristmas: Metta Eggs – Collect Moments Not Things...

From Buddhist Centre Features on Fri, 12 Dec, 2014 - 19:42Imagine being given a box of hand-crafted eggs
Filled with heartfelt messages
From people who really care about you

Christmas stirs up mixed feelings for most people. Life is busy enough without adding pressure to spend time and money we might not have, to connect with all our nearest, dearest – and perhaps those we feel we “should” be close to, even if they leave us gasping for air.

Preceptors' College video features a message from Bhante

From Community Highlights on Fri, 12 Dec, 2014 - 17:43An idiosyncratic and rich 15-minute video about the latest meeting of the Preceptors’ College and their consideration of current issues in Triratna, made by College member Moksananda, featuring a remarkable Skype conversation between them and Vajragita - who couldn’t attend because, as she said, she was dying. “It’s not too bad, dying!” she laughs.

And, to start and end, an interview with Sangharakshita. Well worth watching.
