More storytelling! Our FBA Dharmabyte today is called “The Story of Hatthaka”, an excerpt from the talk of the same title by Ratnaprabha. A brilliantly told story from the Pali Canon, about Hatthaka, who used the 4 sangraha vastus, the four means of creating a sangha, to do exactly that. The four are: generosity, kindly speech, good works or action and exemplification. Ratnaprabha explains these in the companion talk: The 4 Sangraha vastus.

Well, the week is speeding up! Yesterday (Tuesday) was our ‘William Stafford’ Day. He’s the American poet who so inspired our dear friend, the late Manjusvara. We did a ‘fishbowl’ close reading of ‘A Ritual To Read To Each Other’ by WIlliam Stafford. And ‘Coyote’. We also just read through ’Lit Instructor’. Bi-focal was a bonus handout. All were real old Wolf At The Door faves!

Olivia Moore is a Manchester mitra and violinist specializing in jazz and Indian classical violin. Her band, Unfurl, a five-piece “Indian-style jazz band” recently received funding from Jazz North to do a set of gigs in the Midlands and northern England. (See tour dates below.)
