Send us a FutureDharma postcard!

From Future Dharma on Mon, 31 Oct, 2016 - 09:00

At FutureDharma Fund we love getting post!  So when we were thinking of the best way of getting in touch with the lovely Triratna community the answer seemed obvious – a postcard.  Throughout the summer we’ve been sending out bundles of FutureDharma Fund postcards to Triratna centres and retreat centres across the world.  They carry a very simple message:

The world needs what you’ve been given.  Pass it on.

FutureDharma Fund is a way for all of us to play our part in taking Triratna...

Ethics as Play

From Shabda Articles on Fri, 21 Oct, 2016 - 20:27

Here’s an article on Buddhist ethics that I wrote last year. My apologies for it being so academic (‘too wordy’, as a friend of mine said). That’s because it was written to for the Oxford Handbook of Buddhist Ethics that’s will be published next year. I think it catches the spirit of how Sangharakshita thinks about ethics, although it’s put in a different language. If the whole thing is too much, but you do want to get the general argument, you can read only...

Mahamati's response to Björn Hunsdieck’s recent letters

Dear fellow Order members,

I have written the attached with the aim of helping us all to understand the background to Björn Hunsdieck’s recent letters posted on Facebook. I guess that some of you reading this will not have seen these letters, which are about a time when he was visiting Bhante at the Madhyamaloka annexe in late 2002. What I write may not be relevant to you, however for those of you interested, or maybe even concerned, I hope that what I have written here will...

Our second short film from India marking the celebrations around the 60th anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s organisation of mass conversion to Buddhism for members of the Dalit community in order to escape the scourge of the Hindu caste system, which treats them as “untouchable.”

As part of their ongoing work with the new Buddhists of India, the Nagaloka Institute (with the International Network of Engaged Buddhists) hosted a special conference dedicated to exploring social engagement and liberation...

Summer/Autumn 2017

From Buddhism in Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and Lowestoft on Wed, 19 Oct, 2016 - 09:27

Currently we are not specifying fees for our courses and classes. Instead, in order to allow people access to what we offer irrespective of their financial situation, we invite participants to make a donation that they can afford to help us cover our costs and so continue to be able to offer classes to as many people as possible. We’re confident we can rely on the practices of appreciation and generosity to keep us going.
