On Sunday 28 July we posted a ‘Further Response from the Adhisthana Kula to the Observer Article, July 2019’.

In our first step under ‘Responding to the Past’ we said:

1. We will issue a clear statement of acknowledgement, regret and undertaking, inviting other order members to add their name or support to it. (1 week)

The UK and Ireland Area Convention starts tomorrow at Wymondham College, UK! The theme is ‘A Mandala of Awakening’ and it includes talks on Sadhana by Prakasha, lead throughs of Bhante’s four main practices (Green Tara, Manjughosha, Padmasambhava and Vajrasattva) as well as pujas in the evening, drawn from the visualisation practices.

This retreat took place two weeks after the critical Observer article 21st July 2019 and Maitrisara uses the four rites as a lens to reflect on how the Sangha can most creatively respond to situations that such public criticism evokes.
