From Triratna International Gathering 2019: Alchemy of the Dharma on Sat, 31 Aug, 2019 - 16:23

A sevenfold puja with all the trimmings, including an extended reading of Pingiya’s Praises of the Way to the Beyond. We also have the ethical precepts and the Heart Sutra recited in many languages, a gorgeous violin introduction and some lovely mantra chanting to stir the heart to practice.

Death of Maniraja

Dear Order members,

We’ve had the very sad news that Maniraja was found collapsed in his hut at Guhyaloka Friday afternoon. An ambulance was called but it was clear that he showed no signs of life. He was 53 years old. His body has been taken to the hospital. We will post more information as soon as possible.

Maniraja was Chair of Guhyaloka for six years. His inspiration was to serve the Order by...

Dharmottara's funeral arrangements

Dear Order Friends,

We now have information about the funeral arrangements for Dharmottara. There will be a celebration of Dharmottara’s life on Monday 9th September at 10:30 at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre (38 Newmarket Rd, Cambridge, CB5 8DT). Lunch will be provided afterwards. All are welcome. 

It will be followed by a woodland burial at Barton Glebe Burial Ground at 2 pm to which family and close friends only are invited.

Dharmabyte: Uninterrupted Flow of Spontaneous Transcendental States

Why did the Buddha compare the The Dharma-Vinaya having the taste of freedom with the great ocean having the taste of salt? It’s about the direct experience of the qualities of enlightenment. The Dharma-vinaya is an uninterrupted spontaneous flow of spiritual and transcendental states. That flow may crystallise into certain teachings, but should not be identified with it.

Just as the mighty ocean has but one taste, the taste of salt, even so the Dharma-vinaya (Buddhism) has but one taste, the taste...
