Urgyen Sangharakshita: The Bodhisattva's Reply

Urgyen Sangharakshita - Bhante - who died last year, is not only the founder of the Triratna Buddhist Order and Community, but also teacher and spiritual friend to Padmavajra. Padmavajra first met him when he was 17 and in this talk he shares some of his own most cherished memories of Bhante, including his experiences of being with him in India when he returned there in the 1970's to found the Order there. This is the third talk given as part of a very special day at Sheffield Buddhist Centre devoted to the lives of two of the most important and influential Buddhists of modern times: Urgyen Sangharakshita and Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Padmavajra is a member of the Triratna Buddhist Order in the UK.

Dear Order Members,

Dharmachari Kuladasa / Ray Taylor has written to me, as his Public preceptor, expressing his wish to resign from the Order, which I have accepted after consultation with Buddhadasa, his Private preceptor.

He was ordained at Vijayaloka in January 2003 and lives in Christchurch, New Zealand. He did not want his resignation letter published but will maintain contact with one or two friends in the Order. I wish him well for...

She was involved in a feedback process following a number of concerns of an ethical nature which were raised and being followed through with her.  It has been a difficult engagement by all involved and at a particularly painful period in Dharmamodini’s life.
