Dear Order members,

I am sad to let you know that Janaka died this morning, Tuesday 5 July at 10.50am, in the nursing home where he had been for the last few weeks. This is five days since he had a major stroke. As we heard a few days ago by Manjuvajra through the Order information service, Janaka had been receiving palliative care for cancer which was no longer treatable.

In the last week of July Ratnasagara met with his consultant and was told the following:

The tumour removed was cancerous.
The surgery successfully removed it all including the margins.
The Consultant is confident that Ratnasagara requires no further treatment such as chemotherapy for now.
He will be monitored for the next five years to see if the cancer returns.
