This audio (13 minutes) from Vajragupta, chair of Rivendell, explains the basic situation. The old era of Rivendell is over. It was based on a team living in woefully inadequate accommodation, cramped and with no psychic...

“Suffering is part of how it is on earth; it is an inherent part of the fabric of existence. And if we are lucky, it will break our heart open. That is the crack that lets the light pour through. That is the way the world cleanses itself.”

— Roger Houseden

15-21 May

Discover the Imagination as a source of deep enrichment and how it can be a path of awakening into an expansive, loving and insightful awareness.

During the retreat, we will approach the imagination as an intuitive means of knowing and understanding, and a reliable source of ‘inner guidance’. We’ll explore what the imagination means to us, discovering images and perspectives to resource both our everyday and ‘more-than-everyday’ lives. We’ll draw on Buddhist sources along with inspiration from western wisdom traditions, contemporary art, and poetry.

Meditate, create, reflect

Awe-inspiring ideas from science - an invitation

From Order Noticeboard on Mon, 20 Apr, 2026 - 18:12

When the physicist Carlo Rovelli wrote, “Great science and great poetry are both visionary… two tools to open our eyes to the complexity and beauty of the world”. Sangharakshita agreed, commenting, “This could hardly be better put”.

On another occasion, Bhante reflected, “In recent years I have been greatly struck by the vistas opened up by recent advances in the exploration of the universe in which we live, from the infinitely small to the infinitely great. These vistas cannot but induce a sense of wonder...

Så Och Sköra: Karma Och återfödelse

From Stockholms buddhistcenter on Mon, 20 Apr, 2026 - 00:00
