Are you interested in moving towards greater kindness? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to respond more positively to the people and situations in your life?

In our ‘Development of Loving Kindness’ (Metta Bhavana) meditation workshop we teach a traditional Buddhist practice aimed at opening up to greater kindness, love, empathy and compassion. You do not need to be a Buddhist to practice this!

Thursday evenings, May 7-28th, 7-9 pm

A practical exploration of the core teachings of the Buddha.

Topics covered will include:

—The life of the Buddha
—The Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path
—Ethics
—Meditation
—Buddhist visions of Reality

The course runs for four consecutive Thursdays, the 7th through the 28th, 7-9 pm. Suitable for all levels of experience. By donation — ($80-$40 suggested for the four weeks).

Early this afternoon at around 13.15 Central European Summer Time, Achalabandhu died in the Benjamin Franklin hospital in Berlin following a long illness. Since Friday evening he received visits from a lot of Order Members as well as friends, although he was mostly unconscious. I visited him yesterday evening for about three hours. He was calm and peaceful. He was ordained on 25th January this year, and his sadhana was a standing form of Shakamuni, with the abhaya mudra. We’ll...

Achalabandhu’s health has seriously deteriorated and he is now in the Benjamin Franklin Hospital in Berlin. Karunada and Dharmapriya visited him yesterday, and I will be seeing him today. I understand that his doctors are unsure whether he will survive the weekend. Please think of him with Metta and Karuna.
